Poor mini.

Still a 998 on the log book and only cost £270 a year to insure.

Nice legal number plates.

Not taxed or M.O.T built for show use and only been used to put boy racers in their place.

Again....

My favourite bit from the description...
"the bonnet was made from 3 pieces f50 bonnet vent zmax bonnet and power buldge and a recess to fit the 16v cam belt cover usually when they make the bonnets for 16v convertions they look pretty siht in my opinion"

Cos he would know...

The MX5 frogeye doesn't look too bad actually, needs a bit of tweakign to the design (lights moved forward a bit maybe) but the concept isn't bad, certainly no worse than those 'lazy-eye' things people do...

BRAKE!

According to a well known magazine site run by the same people as Autocar. 'BRAKE!' have decided that 80mph on the motorway is far too fast and we will all die horible deaths at the hands of late Audi drivers or carbon monoxide poisoning. In a fit of morally guided embuggerance they have decided that raising the speed limit will cost the NHS and enmergency services £62million, £180.4 million in 'carbon' and £766.6million in extra fuel. I assume they have also factored in the cost of changing the signs from derestriced to, erm, yeah.

One can only assume these idiots spend most of their time in a cupboard as most of us drive at 70+ if its clear enough and besides which only a small number of accidents are caused by speed anyway.

The AA have said that its only possible if the road has, amongst other things, active signage. And that is wonderful, but who has ever driven at 80 through Birmingham at any time other than the filming of '28 days later'.

The Campaign for better transport (Transport 2000 to you and me) claim that there will be '25 more deaths each year as a result of these rules'. Do they think we all adhere to the speed limit? Do they not know how difficult it is to get pulled at 90 never mind 80 on an M road? The 70mph limit was set as a knee-jerk reaction to the E-type, DB5 and Shelby Cobra. In 1959 Midland Red set about building a coach that could do 85! Most cars are designed to go and stop from 120 at least now and more to the point how come Germany can get away with not having a speed limit and the most safe roads in europe at the same time.

I decided to join the forum for 'BRAKE!' to voice my concerns at their scarmongering, statistical inacuracy and downright lying only to find that I will be out of pocket to the tune of £90. NINETY FRACKING POUNDS!!!

I think its high time these people were asked to prove their grovelling nonsense before bleeting the in public ear about it. We don't all live in london reading Byron and worrying about bus provision in a world that might just exist on the other side of of your bloody box hedging.

Rant over.

Email to T2000
Please stop bleeting on about this 80mph speed limit. I can understand why you want to wrap us all up in cotton wool and protect us from the iminant danger we all put ourselves under. Knives must be dulled, lest we cut our fingers and we can't possibly be allowed to risk crossing a road without a little green man to guide us.

So what if the limit is 80. Apart from the fact that most people do 80 in the first place if I want to conserve fuel I will slow down. If the road is busy I will slow down. If there is a massive crash in front of me I will get my car stopped at a safe distance and help those in need. I DO NOT need you meddling in my life and trying to think for me. Do me a favour and go to Germany. The Government there allow their people to make common sense decisions. There are no 'NO SMOKING' signs in Volkswagens factory because everyone knows you cannot smoke their. The Autobahns are not full of Cocaine fueled louts driving at 200mph because it is not always possible to drive at that speed and to do so on coke would be counterproductive and dangerous (yes they accept that without being told). Most drive at whatever speed they deem sensible taking a number of different pieces of information into their brain including; number of other cars, time of day, fuel remaining, length of journey, topography, weather and obviously the car or bikes comfortable cruising speed. All Germans have the ability to do this without (shock horror) delluded meddling do-gooders like yourselves. It may surprise you to find out that most British peopl have this ability too only they are steadily losing it because they are told so much about that to do and not do by the likes of you.

Might I suggest on your way to Germany to find out what common sense looks like that you have a look at this big island we live on that is not serviced by the North Circular. You'll find lots more common sense their.

Please circulate this amongst your 'coalition'.

Thank you.

I'm not sure whats more bizarre - that car or that you were looking at that website. Amazing that he has a 1993 Nissan patrol with over 200bhp though - Most of them struggled to make 150bhp, even the 3.0 petrol or 4.0 diesel.

Will has a deserved reputation for his ’stick a V8 under the bonnet’ attitude to life and has had (and crashed/ had stolen/ rusted away) enough cars to fill a monthly magazine on his own. His editorial team is stacked with experience with the likes of Dave Walker (speciality engine management), of the sadly-missed Car and Car Conversions magazine, David Vizard, the legendary engine tuning guru, and Kevin Leaper (speciality buying cars in pubs) – ex technical editor of Practical Classics. Have a look at the Staff Cars and features to give you a flavour of PPC but for the real thing get along to your local WH Smiths or independent newsagent. PPC is on sale on the last Thursday of every month.
