Alongside Pininfarina, Sergio Scaglietti designed some of the most beautiful cars ever made. And at 91 had a pretty good innings...

Honored in 2009 by Ferrari with the 612 Scaglietti one of the best looking Ferraris ever made and in my opinion one of the best looking cars of this century.

If you like the car or not the Porsche 911 has been a design icon that set a bench mark for performance cars for over fifty years. You can tell roughly how old someone is by the Porsche poster they had on their bedroom wall (935 SE Turbo for me) or toy car they played with as a child. Another sad day for motoring fans.

Mr Carroll Shelby died yesterday aged 89. What do you say that has not been said before about this man. One of a handful of men who have personally infuriated Enzo Ferarri.

Yes great navigator with a promising career, very very sad, Craig Breen is involved in our local Motor Club, and I am sure all will be devastated by this tragic accident. My thoughts go out to his family.

Sergio Pininfarina died yesterday at home. He oversaw the most iconic company designs for Ferrari, Marserati, Alfa Romeo, Rolls Royce and erm, Peugeot.

The company survives with Paulo and Lorenza Pininfarina at the helm.

I'm sorry to say the only Pininfarina badged car I have ever owned was my Fiat Coupe and that was a Bangle design. Another great loss. :(
