My pug 306 dt con rods made a bid for freedom last night and certainly looks like they escaped[:0] its certainly a impressive blow up, especially considering half the rear of the engine is missing[^], Not sure whether I rate this one or the one where my fiesta threw 3 rods out the block as my favourite blow up[}:)] especially like the way the rods managed to smash the starter off the gearbox on its exit.

blimey! what were you doing to it at the time?

i guess there'll be some cheap 306 bits on ebay next week? or are you gonna fix it up?

Spray of WD40 and some gaffer tape, that'll be right as rain.

Was just cruising down the motorway at 80 (kph of course) when with no warning it threw its toys out the pram, not worth repairing it as it will need a engine,gearbox and starter motor at the very least, plus the mot was next week and I knew I would need to spend a few hundred(axle bearings knackered etc) to get it through, I'll probably sell it as is on ebay or break it up and flog the bits worth selling once the ppc999 shed is out the garage.
