What does it look like and was it std fitment on any of them? If it was I might have the electro one on the Type 9 I have in the garage.

I believe it was standard on the very latest Sierras and Granadas. Dunno what it looks like but of yours has somewhere to fit a speedo cable, it won't have the electro one as the sender/sensor fits in the speedo drive hole instead of the cable.

I'll have a look as mine was from a sierra. Its definitely got some electrical plugs on it but that might just be the reverse switch.

I'll do you a swap? If I go cable then I can keep my Smiths clocks.

Forget I asked....

there is a dished tin cover opposite side to the cable, pull this off, there is a circlip retaining the drive and it will pull out. New gear should come with a new cap.

I checked mine this morning. It appears to be missing the cap but the circlip is on show.

PM me your address and I'll try and get it in the post tomorrow morning.

Is this for the turd?

Yup. The turd is getting EPAS and I want to make it speed sensitive.

I was going to use a Corsa column but the one I bought on Ebay has turned out to be one from an Agila......

Is that the one that is a clone of the Suzuki WagonR? Might be the same parts as the Corsa one anyway...

Yup. It's the same part numbers as the WagonR but......
the steering wheel fitment is WagonR/Agila not the common Vauhall. And the ECU isn't the same as the Corsa one and I'm struggling to find any pin-out info for it. The dimensions are different which coud work in my favour and the one I have is lighter than the Corsa unit. Rallywiz (or summats) are selling EPAS controllers for the Agila but they want £55+ quid for one. And the diameter of the column splines are different to the ones I currently have.
So, I emailed the guy I bought it off and he apologised and refunded the money and said he would find me a Corsa one. But I've heard nothing from him..
Do I keep the Agila one and find a way to make it fit or get they guy to pay the £20 to return the Agila one and then send me a Corsa one for the same price as I paid for the Agila one?

Wagon-R EPAS ECU pinout diagram found! And it looks to use a raw signal from a vehicle speed sensor so it looks like it's just the steering wheel and shaft diameter I need to fix. I could always weld the end of my column onto the Agila one and then make a hybrid U/J for the bottom of the column.

Fix the column splines. WagonR column from a breakers? Might save some cutting, a few extra UJs wouldn't make much difference to your steering 'system'.
