That's not bad mate
Would make a good conversion into the back of something, like a small hatchback. What's the BHP as std?

Ah! Now there's the thing.......
I wanted the VVC 210bhp unit but to use the standard ECU, you need the entire 'multiplex' can-bus loom with everything from the dash set to the key transponders. If you miss any bits out, the ECU goes in to sulky mode.
I ended up with the 194bhp engine which has proper blokes wires. With a de-cat, freeflow chimney and panel filter, standard 406 Coupes poke out 212-220bhp. The ECU can be remapped or there is a Clio V6 ECU which will wind the power up if I can find which one it is. It's the same one the Frog Plod use in their 406 Plod cars.....

220bhp, nice. Should be more than enough to mangle your Twiglet derived drivetrain.

Having a haggle with the ideal candidate for my project. May opt' for a front mounted rear wheel drive V6 due to the space/performance ratio. ;)

So, after a few nightshifts, a swarf pile as big as a big bear, a few swarf burns, a few swarf cuts and a totally ruined fleec, cause by being melted by swarf, I have......<<drum roll>>
V6 gearbox.
Image

V6 gearbox pulled to bits to get the bellhousing end.

Making swarf.

More swarf.

Offset swarf making.

Bibbles to transfer the holes to a template.

And the 'finished'adaptor plate. Just needs ffive more holes once I have the gearbox levelled to the engine.

Apologies for the immensely childish drawing but you should get the idea...Image

Practical Performance Car (PPC) magazine, a monthly publication aimed at real car enthusiasts, with real-world cars. At PPC we pride ourselves in providing the most entertaining, informative and inspiring features for petrolheads everywhere. Each month we feature an eclectic mix of affordable performance cars, great driving adventures and world-class technical features for the DIY tuner.

Everyone who works on the magazine is a dyed-in-the-wool car enthusiast and this is reflected in the cars we drive and the topics we write about. Whether it be fast road, track-day or grass roots motorsport you’ll find it in PPC. Our editorial team is headed up by well known editor Will Holman. Will has a deserved reputation for his ’stick a V8 under the bonnet’ attitude to life and has had (and crashed/ had stolen/ rusted away) enough cars to fill a monthly magazine on his own. His editorial team is stacked with experience with the likes of Dave Walker (speciality engine management), of the sadly-missed Car and Car Conversions magazine, David Vizard, the legendary engine tuning guru, and Kevin Leaper (speciality buying cars in pubs) – ex technical editor of Practical Classics. Have a look at the Staff Cars and features to give you a flavour of PPC but for the real thing get along to your local WH Smiths or independent newsagent. PPC is on sale on the last Thursday of every month.
