suzuki swift mk1 cabriolet

Postby tommi » Wed Jan 18, 2012 7:57 pm

Well i wasnt going to enter this year as im putting all my money into my BMW 2002 group 2 car im building..... however this came up for £200!!!!

Image

its a 1.3 and reasonably nippy i think. leaf spring rear axle so im sure there are some cheap mods out there to make that very stiff.

so far i have fitted a CD player and a couple of holes in the roof have been sewn up. i have been given a gigantic letterbox exhaust and various other random shite and junk to add to it.

have got some 15x7 centerelines im re-boring out to the right stud pattern and got some sticky(ish) rubber for £50 as there of an old chevy day van and i still got lots of tyres from last year.

So basically i have tons of budget left!!!!!!!!!!

If anyone has a swift gti engine or something simaler then please let me know as would be interested in making her competitive

ive just had a very dirty idea.....

getting a mk1 RX7 carb engine and gearbox.

cutting the floor out the suzuki (well down the middle)

mounting up a rwd back axle onto the leaf springs already there and obviously improve the suspension.

lots n lots n lots of nitrous!

hmmmmmmmm will get some ideas together i think

That looks interesting my saab project was sold as the mate needed the cash asap so im on lookout for a motor I want a coupe and am tempted by cheap corrado with no interior.
How about bike carbs on a gti lump ?
I look forward to your build thread

found a set of 2" lowering blocks..... fitted.

exhaust is all sorted now and doesnt blow so much,

tape fitted to roof to stop it coming off at speed.

sprayed wheels with stonechip so they look pimp yo!

engine seems to still be holding on for dear life so no change yet and my BMW is sucking money from my pocket so no cash to play with suzukis really :(

His editorial team is stacked with experience with the likes of Dave Walker (speciality engine management), of the sadly-missed Car and Car Conversions magazine, David Vizard, the legendary engine tuning guru, and Kevin Leaper (speciality buying cars in pubs) – ex technical editor of Practical Classics.
