Anyway, car is now on the drive, and I am £400 lighter.

No signes of oil in the coolant as yet, no signs of coolant on the dip stick, just good old oil.

i heard some thing about the good ole vtec head fitting onto one of those k series engines, just an idea but if your serious about the turbo dont bother wit it.

if its for tracking i would just say simplify and add lightness.
ala project sausage here somewhere on the forum.

then when yer don there find a subaru impreza turbo and use that to boost the bejesus out of it.
the speed usually comes from somewhere other than the engine first.

brakes handling(cut the springs) and get rid of any heavy stuff u dont need (wings bonnet and the like)

just an idea

I think that comes from way back when the K was originally being developed. I think Rover were in league with Honda at the time and so when developing the K-series and its wonderfully good VVC, it was designed in such a way as to allow the use of a Vtec style cam lift mechanism as well. I don't think it was ever done though an I don't think a honda Vtec cam will fit either, I believe it's just that the 2 designs aren't mutually exclusive. It would have a allowed fully variable valve timing with 2 stage valve lift. Quite nice really.

I think either go with the K (supercharger perhaps?) or the T16 anything else will be a money pit I reckon.

I will have a lok at the engine in it first, tho' I plan to use the nos, which would most probably the the K if it wasn't already dead.

The T16 is still the goal (or maybe the v6 rover)

Anyway, clue to the project name

term coined in 1965 by Elliott Jaques and used in Western societies to describe a period of dramatic self-doubt

Wad having a little discusseio with Mr O today, and the idea of the v6 was mentioned again.

The rover would be the obvious chose due to gearboxes and shafts and alike, so did a little reading and found this.

I think that little thread you've linked there should be adequate encouragement. one question - how much power to the KV6 engines put out? Flog the k series and shove in a KV6. [:D]

Pretty sure power for the V6 was 180 in the ZS or 190 in the ZT/75

Practical Performance Car (PPC) magazine, a monthly publication aimed at real car enthusiasts, with real-world cars. At PPC we pride ourselves in providing the most entertaining, informative and inspiring features for petrolheads everywhere. Each month we feature an eclectic mix of affordable performance cars, great driving adventures and world-class technical features for the DIY tuner.

Everyone who works on the magazine is a dyed-in-the-wool car enthusiast and this is reflected in the cars we drive and the topics we write about. Whether it be fast road, track-day or grass roots motorsport you’ll find it in PPC. Our editorial team is headed up by well known editor Will Holman. Will has a deserved reputation for his ’stick a V8 under the bonnet’ attitude to life and has had (and crashed/ had stolen/ rusted away) enough cars to fill a monthly magazine on his own. His editorial team is stacked with experience with the likes of Dave Walker (speciality engine management), of the sadly-missed Car and Car Conversions magazine, David Vizard, the legendary engine tuning guru, and Kevin Leaper (speciality buying cars in pubs) – ex technical editor of Practical Classics. Have a look at the Staff Cars and features to give you a flavour of PPC but for the real thing get along to your local WH Smiths or independent newsagent. PPC is on sale on the last Thursday of every month.
