I just had a brainwave (a very rare occasion, land errosion in slate happens more often). Why dont we do a whacky racers style thing starting at lands end and running up to john o groats!? we may make it, we may not... whos up for it?

We could also do a shed run around several tracks next year, gatecrashing other trackdays...... it could get messy! I have only one concern...... the cars may not make it off the first track!!!

Sounds fun, would be up for it if I didn't have wife and kids to sort out.

Gr8....

Isn't there a Charity/Sponsored 'banger run' to some eastern european destination already??

'Constantinople or Bust!'... kindda thing?

The 999ers could 'gatecrash' [err..could crash  ] their GiG.

We've done this the other way round, our old Astra went to Valencia in Spain & back on the Ramshackle Rally last year & did the £999 this year, we did'nt sticker it up like a Mad Max Police Interceptor just for the challenge! & there's thoughts of doing the Nurburgring with it next year!

Some of the more seasoned forummers may recollect my proposition, 'The Pie Run'. A simple trundle form Blackpool on the West Coast to Whitby on the East.
However, folks grumbled that it was too far North, or too far South, or just too far. Based on these observations, I doubt you'd get anyone actually turning up to drive the length of the country.
I did John O'groats to Landsend on a C90 and the most tedious bit was getting to the start line and getting home after the finish!

Practical Performance Car (PPC) magazine, a monthly publication aimed at real car enthusiasts, with real-world cars. At PPC we pride ourselves in providing the most entertaining, informative and inspiring features for petrolheads everywhere. Each month we feature an eclectic mix of affordable performance cars, great driving adventures and world-class technical features for the DIY tuner.

Everyone who works on the magazine is a dyed-in-the-wool car enthusiast and this is reflected in the cars we drive and the topics we write about. Whether it be fast road, track-day or grass roots motorsport you’ll find it in PPC. Our editorial team is headed up by well known editor Will Holman. Will has a deserved reputation for his ’stick a V8 under the bonnet’ attitude to life and has had (and crashed/ had stolen/ rusted away) enough cars to fill a monthly magazine on his own. His editorial team is stacked with experience with the likes of Dave Walker (speciality engine management), of the sadly-missed Car and Car Conversions magazine, David Vizard, the legendary engine tuning guru, and Kevin Leaper (speciality buying cars in pubs) – ex technical editor of Practical Classics. Have a look at the Staff Cars and features to give you a flavour of PPC but for the real thing get along to your local WH Smiths or independent newsagent. PPC is on sale on the last Thursday of every month.
