Leon Cupra
Current spec is basic but getting there:
Engine:
Bypassed N249 Valve (Dump valve control)
Signal clamp on map sensor circuit (ecu doesn't sense boost over 11psi but air flow meter still fuels for air air sucked in)
Manual boost control valve inline with N75 valve (boosting currently to 19psi peak)
Boost gauge
Engine should be good for 200bhp in this setup
Chassis:
Custom coilover setup, using FK coilover front struts with GAZ adjustable inerts
Spax Adjustable rear shocks.
Rare Jap imported PIAA racing forged 17's
Golf mk4 4motion Front ARB with home made Droplinks (4mothion arb goes under the driveshaft instead of over so doesn't rub when lowered)
Inside:
Standard

currently running a stage 1 revo map,
Have made up my own intercooler setup:

and modified the bumper to let a little more air in!

Also modified a Leon Cupra R exhaust system to fit and fittied a decat so its now 2.5" from turbo back.
needless to say it puts a smile on your face!

its a subframe drop job and steering rack needs unbolting too, then fit the new arb and fabricate some custom drop links to connect the 4motion arb to the wishbones

Think they're getting sick of hearing the angle grinder all day everytime i get a day off!
This car is true PPC spirt though, averything is either second hand, home made or made to fit, Even the front coilovers have Gas adjustable inserts designed for a mk1 golf inside them!

did some research into the kkk series of turbos and found that the k03 and k04 range share many parts in common enough to build a hybrid from standard parts.
So
Sourced a low mileage k03 as a doner:

Stripped and rebuilt it with genuine bearing kit and k04-22 compressor wheel and backplate
this picture shows the difference in compressor size:

Core built up turbine not visible as its sat inside and aerosol lid, compressor housings cut ready to be tigged

Assembled Core has been VSR balanced by CRturbos in newmilton excellent service same day turnaround
Fitted back into exhaust housing:

Just waiting for the k04-22 compressor housing to be tigged up with the outlet of the k03 housing hopefully will be done next week

That'll teach me for reading things while trying to do work
Did it cost much just for the balancing if you don't mind me asking? I remember trying to get my old diesel VNT turbo rebuilt and balanced and no one bar Turbo Technics would touch it. Turbo Technics were a few hundred but then it made more sense to get a hybrid built with a bearing that wasn't made of silly putty like the old one and would have handled 200+bhp.
