Question regarding taking bits off another car?
Just looking into entering into the £999 challenge with my RX7 FC. Question I have is around taking bits off my other RX7?
Basically I have 2 of them and each one has its good and bad points. The one I want to use has been upgraded with bits from my old (now broken) FC. I.e. brake pads, ARB's and wheels. How would I go about valuing these additions?
Thanks for any help.

things you buy the price you pay is the price taken off the budget. For example I recently bought a set of brake calipers from a Punto GT for my Cinquecento for 99p because the guy listed them as "Fait" instead of "Fiat". They're worth £60-£140 depending on the condition but as I paid 99p that's all I'll take out of the budget.
If you have enough left you'll be wanting this....

Lol, I have already been looking at super chargers but price aside I don't really have the technical know how or access to workshop for any fabrication.
As for the parts its very hard to draw comparisons as for example I have yet to see Racing Beat ARB's for sale 2nd hand over here in the UK as the rotary seen is very small compared to say Aus and the US. Both cars were indeed less than £999. Old one which is being taken apart was £700 when I bought it a few years ago and the black one I want to use was either £500 or £600 (need to find receipt as I cannot remember). Also I have sold a set of alloys and tyres off them for £96 so can take this into account?
Thanks

It'll be good to see another FC at the £999. I ran a TurboII 3 yrs ago and finished 4th, hence my forum name (it stuck
For the budget, like Rob says, try to use ebay etc to give parts you already have a realistic value. But the main rule of thumb is don't take the piss (cue smart comment from jaffa

Not actually finding the rust too bad at the moment (just hexed myself), but did have to do a bit on the old one last year.
Anyways I now need to figure out how to make my car a bit quicker as straight line speed is frankly not very good at all.
Thanks again

Lol, just been thinking the same but have never really fancied using it. Before thinking about doing this challenge I was planning on doing a rebuild and street port but that will have to wait now as cost would be too much.
On look out for 2nd hand lightened flywheel over in Aus or US at moment as well

I retro-fitted it to the MR2 for last year and it went like stink on the test run but didn't work on the day, sticky solenoid I think

Just trying to work out what I have left to spend on it at the moment.
I might consider selling my full NOS (Nitrous Oxide Systems) set-up if it's going to a good cause. It's sat in the garage doing nowt and I don't have any current plans for it. There's 2 full 10lb bottles, fogger, lines, switches, solenoids, various jets, progressive controller (nearly £300 new on its own!!

Hmmmm, will definately consider this. Need to do some thinking though first. Mainly about whether I want to risk blowing up engine for some straight line speed. Thanks for offering and I will seriously consider it. How much would you be looking for, for it by the way?
Thanks
