Very extensive costing list! think you've added quite a few things that don't have to be there just to bump the numbers up! lol!
Well done on getting it finished I think you should run the nos anyways! Be interesting to see how it handles compared to mine should be a giggle Friday can't wait!

675 kg as standard. not really sure how much i have taken out, at best about 50kg i guess but i think that might even be a bit over. with me in it i would hope to be under 700kg total but i did have a lot of pies for dinner last night

Bloody hell I need to get one of those! I think I'd be lucky if mine weighed in at 850kg's even with all the stuff i took out this weekend! What engines go into those easily? 1.8 16 valve from golf possible?

big blocks from golfs dont fit unfortunatly as they lean the wrong way....... thats not going to stop me fitting a 1.8T next though... think it will take me over the £999 budget though

dont they run the wrong way though?

TBH i really want turbo power, Im looking to start running this in the european drag series FWD. if i can get a 1.8T to run around 400bhp that would give me nearly 550bhp per ton which is more than enough to get up with the big boys

Is there any way someone from admin can move this car into the non £999 build thread section

thanks buddy. i feel safe and secure :)

well i will start with an update from the PPC

The car infact even made it home and seemed to run very very well, think it liked the thrashing i gave it.

I have just learnt of a VW event GTi festival again at the pod and it has a handling course with prizes so im going to have a crack at that i think. sunday 16th october

after that its going to get loaded up with my crap and moved back to the west country as im moving house on the 21st.

Im looking at entering the drag racing comunity with something with big power once its home so will be getting a trailer and starting making it into a very very fast little polo.

and yes i will be removing the audi badges now, im bored of pretending to be an audi

Sounds like its gonna be serious
1.8t with a large turbo conversion.. . Those polos are rare nowadays I really like treatment oxide paint you could go for a hipo 16v screamer...

Practical Performance Car (PPC) magazine, a monthly publication aimed at real car enthusiasts, with real-world cars. At PPC we pride ourselves in providing the most entertaining, informative and inspiring features for petrolheads everywhere. Each month we feature an eclectic mix of affordable performance cars, great driving adventures and world-class technical features for the DIY tuner.

Everyone who works on the magazine is a dyed-in-the-wool car enthusiast and this is reflected in the cars we drive and the topics we write about. Whether it be fast road, track-day or grass roots motorsport you’ll find it in PPC. Our editorial team is headed up by well known editor Will Holman. Will has a deserved reputation for his ’stick a V8 under the bonnet’ attitude to life and has had (and crashed/ had stolen/ rusted away) enough cars to fill a monthly magazine on his own. His editorial team is stacked with experience with the likes of Dave Walker (speciality engine management), of the sadly-missed Car and Car Conversions magazine, David Vizard, the legendary engine tuning guru, and Kevin Leaper (speciality buying cars in pubs) – ex technical editor of Practical Classics. Have a look at the Staff Cars and features to give you a flavour of PPC but for the real thing get along to your local WH Smiths or independent newsagent. PPC is on sale on the last Thursday of every month.
