Just saying hello.

Ring the bell and say "Hi" by telling us a little about you and your car. The PPC lock up always has someone in who'll get the door and welcome you in (it helps if you bring a box of jaffas)

Go to the log in screen and use the "forgotten password" link enter your email address. You should get an email saying your forum name and password.

I think.

I had better just stick with using the wifes e-mail bacause if I try registering with my e-mail address it tells me that it is already in use,BUT if I go down the forgotten password route it tells me that the e-mail address can't be found.
I will leave it as is and move on.

yeah move on ....... and tell us about the '86 535, i like that shape, years ago a neighbour had an M535 on a D plate, so that must be an 86/87, went well, esp between about 40 and 120, handled as well for a what was a big car back then, it did like a drink mind, he drove it to Le-Mans, which must've cost a few quid in petrol even back then, if you did it now, it'll probably be cheaper by plane!!

Yes, mine is the M535i in Royal Blue metallic with the close ratio dog leg gearbox,I bought it with no MOT but once I had sorted all the electrical problems and had some welding done it was good to go.It came with a set of M6 replica wheels and I think they look great.I do have the original alloys but the metric tyres are £250 each!It must have been a rapid car in it's day but now,25 years later with some hot hatches pushing out over 200 bhp it is just OK.Lovely car to drive though and puts a smile on my face every time I open it up.There is a strange noise from the passenger seat though (my missus usually shouting b@@@@y slow down will you)

lovely car, in vgc, i could live with that quite happily
the modern hatches you mentioned may be quick, but they have no style or sense of occasion like rolling up in an icon like the first M badged 5 series!
As nice as the M6 wheels are.......i honestly feel an 80's design would suit the car better, especially with a nice deep-dish on them. But, if you're anything like me, im forever swapping rims over, and have over 20 sets of VW/Audi wheels at any one time!

Thanks for the kind words about the car,it is on the road on a VERY tight budget so the wheels are the only ones available for now.
It is great the amount of attention the car gets,I am so glad I chose one of these,I just love big saloons and was tempted by a 24v carlton but the BM won.
So you are a VW fan? Look out for next months magazine,I have sent in an article for the back yard build about my sons Jetta and there might be a picture printed showing the Jetta and mine.

A while back I 'found' this one and made an attempt at trying to buy it because it had a lovely cream leather interior. (If it had been more than a tenner though it would have been out of my price range) :lolno:.The owner finally replied saying it had been sold.Boo.

i'll keep em peeled for the jetta + BMW mate, love my VW's and Audi's and yeah you're right, E12 was the first M 5series, learn something new everyday!!! could've sworn it was the E28.....still prefer your shape though!
i'd have one tomorrow, if i could blag the missus!!!

And those Azev A's would be perfect for the job!

Is that the original paint on your M535? It's in amazing condition for its age

Practical Performance Car (PPC) magazine, a monthly publication aimed at real car enthusiasts, with real-world cars. At PPC we pride ourselves in providing the most entertaining, informative and inspiring features for petrolheads everywhere. Each month we feature an eclectic mix of affordable performance cars, great driving adventures and world-class technical features for the DIY tuner.

Everyone who works on the magazine is a dyed-in-the-wool car enthusiast and this is reflected in the cars we drive and the topics we write about. Whether it be fast road, track-day or grass roots motorsport you’ll find it in PPC. Our editorial team is headed up by well known editor Will Holman. Will has a deserved reputation for his ’stick a V8 under the bonnet’ attitude to life and has had (and crashed/ had stolen/ rusted away) enough cars to fill a monthly magazine on his own. His editorial team is stacked with experience with the likes of Dave Walker (speciality engine management), of the sadly-missed Car and Car Conversions magazine, David Vizard, the legendary engine tuning guru, and Kevin Leaper (speciality buying cars in pubs) – ex technical editor of Practical Classics. Have a look at the Staff Cars and features to give you a flavour of PPC but for the real thing get along to your local WH Smiths or independent newsagent. PPC is on sale on the last Thursday of every month.
