Not got any space to work on the new car, so the MGF will have to go.

Should I sell it complete, or break it?

Front splitter
new harnesses
painted rear ARB with poly bushes
painted front ARB with poly bushes
rest of the poly bush kit
two sets of solid mounts
Half roll cage
1.8 engine
modded front bumper :)
exhaust with cat
painted front subframe
doors
boot lid
bonnet
painted under floor pipes

Whst do you think, sell complete of break?

Posted on MGF owners and locostbuilders

Well I am reluctantly selling my MGF

I would like to have kept the car, but I have not got enough room, and a new project is taking up my time.

So about the car.

1997 British racing green

The car has been modified and all the details can be found on the Practical Performance car Magazine forum.

viewtopic.php?f=7&t=6807

The main things are

Roof and windscreen removed
Aeroscreen fitted
Seats replaced with light weight fibreglass ones (the ones in the car are now the low back version of the one in the photos)
Half roll cage with harness bar
4 Point harnesses
Front under dashboard braces fitted
Carpets removed
Interior stone chip painted black
Windscreen wipers and motor removed
Side windows and electric winders removed
Lowering knuckles fitted to the front suspension
Individualizing units fitted to split the front and rear suspension.
Modded front bumper
Front subframe and been removed, cleaned down, painted and refitted.
Solid front subframe mounts fitted (from TF)
Front cross bracing fitted (from TF)
Closer ration steering rack fitted (from TF)
Front ARB cleaned, re-painted, and re-fitted
Front ARB polybushes fitted
Rear ARB cleaned, re-painted, and refitted
Rear ARM polybushes fitted
Rear drop link polybushes fitted
Rear shocker bushes replaced.
Front Splitter fitted.

Spares to go with the car
TF shockers
TF upper front wishbones
Rear hydolastic spheres
Front lower wishbones
Under floor coolants pipes cleaned and freshly painted.
Rear control arms
Ramaining parts of full poly bush kit
front ARB
F steering rack

The car was built for the PPC 999 challenge. I came 23rd or of about 50, and the car a lot of fun.

It is a very clean car, the engine is sweat and it starts first time on the button.

Cam belt was changes at 65 according the engine cover.

View is more than welcome.

This would make a really good summer car or track day car for someone.

I would like to get some of the money back for the bits I spent, so I'm looking for £650.

I would have thought it could be broken for more than that, but would like to sell the car complete if I can.

Thanks for looking, if any one wants ant photos let me know.
(the big stickers on the side can just be peeled off)

I would prefer to sell it complete. Would be a real shame to break it.

Would this actually pass an MOT and not flag up all sorts of modified VOSA/inspection/IVA/fines/etc craziness?

Nor even slightly modified.

Bulkheads intact.

I was a convertible, it just can't convert back.

Will the roof and screen go back on or have you sold them? You might get more takers if it can be 'dailyised'.

Jaffa was looking for his goggles, hard hat, ear defenders, overalls, safety boots, apron, gloves, bump cap, ear plugs, high-vis vest, permit book, method statement, safety programme, safety specs, condoms, breathing aparatus, hand-arm anti-vibration gloves, confined-spaces entry equipment, HV switching gear, boiler inspection kit, fire supressing equipment, etc. I just grabbed the grinder and grinded.

Practical Performance Car (PPC) magazine, a monthly publication aimed at real car enthusiasts, with real-world cars. At PPC we pride ourselves in providing the most entertaining, informative and inspiring features for petrolheads everywhere. Each month we feature an eclectic mix of affordable performance cars, great driving adventures and world-class technical features for the DIY tuner.

Everyone who works on the magazine is a dyed-in-the-wool car enthusiast and this is reflected in the cars we drive and the topics we write about. Whether it be fast road, track-day or grass roots motorsport you’ll find it in PPC. Our editorial team is headed up by well known editor Will Holman. Will has a deserved reputation for his ’stick a V8 under the bonnet’ attitude to life and has had (and crashed/ had stolen/ rusted away) enough cars to fill a monthly magazine on his own. His editorial team is stacked with experience with the likes of Dave Walker (speciality engine management), of the sadly-missed Car and Car Conversions magazine, David Vizard, the legendary engine tuning guru, and Kevin Leaper (speciality buying cars in pubs) – ex technical editor of Practical Classics. Have a look at the Staff Cars and features to give you a flavour of PPC but for the real thing get along to your local WH Smiths or independent newsagent. PPC is on sale on the last Thursday of every month.
