Hi folks
Having got a new addition to the family the mr2 turbo is a tad lacking in rear seats. Now, I've always fancied a 944 turbo but being skint am wondering if it's simple to upgrade the n.a. one. Anyone tried it? Ta! Wack. Oh, and if you fancy a well tidy mr2 turbo rev 2, loads of history do say! Cheers.

Do you have driveway space for a family wagon and the MR2?

944's are famous for the rear seat space. A dirt cheap warm hatch would do the trick. ;)

Register it to the other half and multicar the policy with you as a named pilot and it might work out less than insuring a pre-immobilizer Porsche.

Plenty of room for whatever really and the capacious rear seating is more of a nod to the mrs. Don't reckon it'll get used, more the idea that it a
Practical alternative to Toyota. Main car is a diesel zt so it's just for fun and games really.

I don't know anything about 944s other than my uncle a top of the tree very low mileage late 3.0 model a few years back. He loved it and only sold it as he was doing 60+ motorway miles a day and felt he was ruining it. He got an MX5 instead 8)

Anyway why not get one of them, you'd have an extra .5 litres and 8 more valves and a higher rev limit. Ok it wouldn't be as fast but if you're gonna turbo an NA one you may as well start with the best, all the NA ones would as a minimum need their compression lowering anyway.

Good thinkIng! It's the handling that really appeals as I think about it as Toyota does alarm me slightly, having grown up with mk1 and 2 escorts etc. Bit of predictability would be nice. Ta for your input!

A 944 will be more predictable than an MR2 as it has more rotational inertia.

I remember my mk1 MR2 being very twitchy especially in the wet, all down to having most of the weight at the middle. I need to get myself another one of those
