Wrong hand drive E36? Not if you want room for a turbo.

Oh yes got tired of waiting and thought it would be a hollow victory without building the car myself so I've sold the Uno Rally car I bought for the competition. So I have totally blank canvas to start from. I did consider making my Alfa Giardinetta Subaru Turbo powered but there are only seven of them left in the UK so it would be cruel of me to take a grinder to one. So I'm looking for a Fiat Panda as I know the car really well and it has a lot more room under the bonnet than the Cinquecent I have just bought to use as a daily driver.

Won't be following the same path as the other Pandas I have built. Thinking inside the box has never been my forte' I'm more inclinded to smash the box with a big hammer, set fire to it and use the charcoal to filter crazy juice. :wtf:

As there's no venue or date I have no deadline. So it won't be a three day Bravo 100SX powered one this time; or will it?

Bravo business end and Uno Turbo CVs going into Uno Turbo hubs.
I fitted the Bravo shafts up to the car and they were only an Inch or so too long. Stripped them and shortened the main shaft welding the ends of the Uno Turbo shafts in place. Checked they were straight on a lathe and re-enforced the joints with a few runs along the join. I was goin to get Reco-Prop to make a proper set after the event. The off side one was 2mm too short and I had to made a spacer to go between the hub and the CV.

You'll love what I have planned for the next one. It's all bits I have in my shed already was well. :)

Edited for P.S My old Uno Turbo powered Panda was called Pandamonium. Have a google and a giggle. Rob

I'm suprised nobody has posted this one yet.

Got my daily drive Cinquecento Sporting and am still looking for a Panda for the engine bay space. Collecing the other Alfa 33 Giardinetta next weekend as a last resort I may use one of those in the £999 but that is only if I can not find a Panda in time.

There's a couple of pandas on ebay going for reasonable sums. One is an auto tho and I can't imagine you want to mess around with changing pedal boxes etc.

Here's the other one:

Guess who the bidder is? 8)

The car can be M.O.T'd cat' free so long as the engine pre-dates the emissions change. So it doesn't have to be a Panda at all. My daily drive Cinquecento may have a coming together with my grinder if I can't find a Panda in time.

Had a thought about the Panda Selecta (Automatic). Wouldn't need to fit a three pedal box at all just fit the original bikes clutch lever to the the gear selector. Grip and change for constant left foot braking into fast bends. Hmmmmmm  I think I'm onto something here?

September 17th, the Pod, I think there's a track day up the road at Rockingham on the 18th. Sounds like a good weekend eh?
