Hmmmmm, that's roughly how much I have left for the turbo and bits for my E36 £999 Challenger.

How would you turbo for £200?? I never understand how people do this cos assuming you'd get the turbo from somewhere for free and you could bodge a down pipe together you'd surely need to buy a manifold £100 induction pipework at least £100 and you'd need some kind of boost control, ingnition and fuel control which to set up correctly has got to be at least another £100 for a lambda sensor and that'd be running it on carbs without electronic ingintion which would set you back another £500 easy!

That is amazing I looked at doing it on my mx-5 and just couldn't make the numbers add up with the work that was required. Yea its still available just about to stick it on e-bay but thought I'd bung it on here first too keep it in the £999 challenge family, I'm hoping to get up and watch as its only up the road from my house this year.

At PPC we pride ourselves in providing the most entertaining, informative and inspiring features for petrolheads everywhere. Each month we feature an eclectic mix of affordable performance cars, great driving adventures and world-class technical features for the DIY tuner.

Everyone who works on the magazine is a dyed-in-the-wool car enthusiast and this is reflected in the cars we drive and the topics we write about. Whether it be fast road, track-day or grass roots motorsport you’ll find it in PPC. Our editorial team is headed up by well known editor Will Holman. Will has a deserved reputation for his ’stick a V8 under the bonnet’ attitude to life and has had (and crashed/ had stolen/ rusted away) enough cars to fill a monthly magazine on his own. His editorial team is stacked with experience with the likes of Dave Walker (speciality engine management), of the sadly-missed Car and Car Conversions magazine, David Vizard, the legendary engine tuning guru, and Kevin Leaper (speciality buying cars in pubs) – ex technical editor of Practical Classics. Have a look at the Staff Cars and features to give you a flavour of PPC but for the real thing get along to your local WH Smiths or independent newsagent. PPC is on sale on the last Thursday of every month.
