If you can’t stand the smell of petrol, if you don’t get goose pimples when a dragster launches, or if your manicurist’s phone number is on speed dial, bugger off. PPC in the Park is not for you. But for the rest of you we’ve some good news. PPC in the Park is back 19th May 2012 at Mallory Park

Postby owelly » Sun May 20, 2012 2:16 am

I've just got home so thought it would be a good time to thank all the magazine staff for organising a good thing, and to thank the staff at Mallory Park for being very accomodating! And last but not least, the camp site crowd who should still be partying now.
Same again next year folks.....

Like to add my thanks to all involved. Nick and entourage for the hospitality, and passenger ride, PPC staff for the event, anmd Mr O for the entertainment. Oh, and Tubs for being very well behaved.

Had a great time, thanks to all

Frank, the marquee's fine mate but doesn't actually fit in the truck but we managed. The trucks battery was properly dead this morning so had to do some 'stunt bumping' down that bank!!

Owelly, glad to hear 'Stunt Boy Tubs' is finally clean. Was a pressure washer required? Just had a shower myself and don't smell like a rotten kipper anymore :D

Jaffa, glad you enjoyed the ride mate even though we were been cut up left right and centre by the tool in Volvo estate

Kate, you owe me some wine!!

Yeah massive thanks to everyone. Looking forward to next year already.

Thanks for sorting me out an afternoon track slot out of the secret stash, I had an absolute blast hooning round in the leather seats with the AC on and being the slowest thing on the track :D

Camping was a mega laugh as usual, managed to keep my clothes on this year though. Been dared to swim the lake next year though

You always know your in the right place when you get drunk and start having a debate over aerodynamic theory

Judging by the way I feel today I must have drank the whole box! I will remember to bring the wine next year, although maybe I shouldn't drink quite so quickly - lesson learnt!

Cracking weekend guys - thanks again for sorting it all out! :-)

Peugeot ran like a dream and I was hugely surprised by the handling, not bad for a dirty smoker.

Hope it wasn't the Turquoise one? :P Sorry if so - it's a bit of a beast to try and muscle about!

Yep, a white Volvo, blocking people overtaking, and cutting up the inside of you on corners, I think he thought he was in the BTCC. :wtf:

Practical Performance Car (PPC) magazine, a monthly publication aimed at real car enthusiasts, with real-world cars. At PPC we pride ourselves in providing the most entertaining, informative and inspiring features for petrolheads everywhere. Each month we feature an eclectic mix of affordable performance cars, great driving adventures and world-class technical features for the DIY tuner.

Everyone who works on the magazine is a dyed-in-the-wool car enthusiast and this is reflected in the cars we drive and the topics we write about. Whether it be fast road, track-day or grass roots motorsport you’ll find it in PPC. Our editorial team is headed up by well known editor Will Holman. Will has a deserved reputation for his ’stick a V8 under the bonnet’ attitude to life and has had (and crashed/ had stolen/ rusted away) enough cars to fill a monthly magazine on his own. His editorial team is stacked with experience with the likes of Dave Walker (speciality engine management), of the sadly-missed Car and Car Conversions magazine, David Vizard, the legendary engine tuning guru, and Kevin Leaper (speciality buying cars in pubs) – ex technical editor of Practical Classics. Have a look at the Staff Cars and features to give you a flavour of PPC but for the real thing get along to your local WH Smiths or independent newsagent. PPC is on sale on the last Thursday of every month.
