Elise Baiting K-series turbocharged Metro
PPC meets a man who's built an alternative hot hatch - and discovers it's hotter than July. Hot and Hatch go together like V and W. Or Peugeot, Citroën, Renault - in fact just about anyone these days. But a Metro? Darren Booker reckoned he could build something to rival the best of the rest and we thinks he's managed it.
Not only does his K-series-powered, turbocharged Metro leave most other hatches standing, it drives like a production car, with brakes, handling and ride quality to match.
It even has ABS - and it's all been done using OEM parts and a large dollop of ingenuity.
To find out how he did it, pick up a copy of the August issue of Practical Performance Car magazine. Available in WH Smiths, Tescos, Asda, Sainsburys and independent retailers.
