Absolutely nothing has happened to this car for the last six years, nor is anything likely to happen in the next six months.

PPC staffer Ed Hall bought it almost ten years ago when he was sixteen for £100, restored it to a decent enough standard and it became his first road car. Next, he crashed it twice.

Following this Ed stuck a 1600cc Crossflow engine in it, blew it up, stuck another 1600 in and blew that up too. Finally, Ed decided to do things properly and built a fairly trick 1700cc Crossflow lump.

Unfortunately he could never get it to run right so took it completely to bits and put it in the loft.

One day Ed plans to rebuild the Escort, probably with a 2-litre Zetec engine and original trim.

He’s gathered all the panels to re-skin the whole car but as he wants to do it properly it’s going to be a long ordeal, so Ed’s putting it off by buying all sorts of other cars to keeping giving him his hits of ’new car excitement’

Ed sold this car to fund his purchase of a 1969 Chrysler 300 from the States.
