PPC in the Park 2010 was petrolhead heaven...
Like the magazine, PPC in the Park was an ecclectic mix of affordable performance cars on show and on track.

Track Action

The track was packed all day with everything from hot hatches to aeroplane engineered bedsteads and all points in-between.

Entertainment

Drifting displays - The 'Ye Olde Drift Team' (VSCC racers with pre-war 18-litre V12 engines) were  the highlight of the show for many of us.  Not only did they show-off their crazy sideways action on track, some of them also had a go at the Autotest (one of them is still waking in the night at the memory of nearly rolling it).

Off road action - Team X Buggies were off-roading at speeds most landrovers never reach on the road.
smoky flying bernay 09 Tractor Pullers - Just Smoky, the 2009 British Champion came along just to rev  its colossal 3500bhp, 3 turbo'd 10 litre alcohol guzzling engine.
project1_3 The  PPC Rolls Royce got a roof chop- It was modified live by www.tootall.info and www.ukkustoms.co.uk.  Despite being a tough ask, as most roof chops take weeks to complete, they managed to do it in just one day. The same time that a DVLA officer takes to write a letter when the computer says no.
smoky 2 Hot rod burnouts-  the hot rod fraternity (the NASC) didn't disappoint us again this year and brought a whole host of different cars to show off on track and to cause some serious smoke coverage by doing burnouts.

Car Displays

The paddock was packed with track-day competitors and PPC project cars including the Westfield Diesel, the Transit V8, Will's 5-litre Capri, Kev's E-type & Charlie's 27-litre Rover.

Practical Performance Car (PPC) is a monthly magazine aimed at real car enthusiasts interested in affordable performance tuning. At PPC we pride ourselves in providing the most entertaining, informative and inspiring features for petrolheads everywhere. Each month we feature an eclectic mix of affordable performance cars, great driving adventures and world-class technical features for the DiY tuner. Our editorial team is headed up by well known Will Holman who has a deserved reputation for 'stick a V8 under the bonnet' attitude to life. His editorial team is stacked with experience including Dave Walker (speciality engine management), of the sadly missed Cars and Car Conversions (CCC) magazine, David Vizard, the legendary engine tuning guru, and Kevin Leaper - ex technical editor of Practical Classics.

Have a look at the online Staff Cars section to give you a flavour of PPC but for the real thing go to your local newsagent, WHSmiths, Asda, Tesco or Sainsburys - PPC is on sale the last Thursday of every month. Better still visit our subscriptions page for the latest offers and discounts to have PPC delivered direct to your door at a fraction of the cost.

Examples of magazine features: brakes uprating, suspension improvements, engine transplants, buyers guides, ECU management, kit car builds, car event coverage (including PPC's own show, PPC in the Park) and much more. Examples of some of the staff's cars: 27 litre Rover SD1, 5 litre Capri, track day Rolls Royce, MK1 Transit and more.
